Quite agree icefisher. Clear signs of melted ice all over the surface.

It's almost over. I think the only reason the tripod is still there is that it has been so warm and dry that there is no spring flood type of event that drives breakups.

It's almost over. I think the only reason the tripod is still there is that it has been so warm and dry that there is no spring flood type of event that drives breakups. Same thing last year. Tripod foot melted through the ice and it tipped over but it took another 3 or 4 days for the drift to start and pull the clock stopper. Should be heartening news for the folks with dates next week. The contest ice experts are saying the Nenana River ice went out of the 19th and is cutting a huge channel just down stream of the tripod. The upstream 1/2 to 3/4 mile the ice is breaking up, creating holes and making a channel. They expect it won't last more than 2 days, which is perfect! I need 27 hours 48 minutes to 51 hours 48 minutes. www.nenanaakiceclassic.com/conditions.htm

Appears to be moving. Looks like it moved inshore a little from yesterday as the ice on the shore has melted.
