So...a rather unusual weather pattern is developing over north Europe. Temps are set to be 7-8°c above average with some places in the uk reaching perhaps over 20°c!!! This will mean records set in 1946 would be broken....
....Now anybody know what happened in 1947???

Are you sure you couldn't guess Sig??? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_of_1946%E2%80%9347_in_the_United_KingdomSo I just checked....46/47 literally went from warmest November of the century, to one of the harshest winters in living memory....within 6 weeks. Ice floes were recorded off East anglia causing ferry cancellations!! So a bit of ammo for y'all in case the warmists raise a victory banner at the conference....

Ok, I had an idea, but I couldn't remember the year. Paris is a bit away, as of yet. I am still recommending that the delegates bring their woolies!!!!

Can't think of a worse way to run up to an event that seems so meaningless as any would after what the Parisians/french have been through last 20 hrs or so.
Media is suggesting the climate conference will be postponed, security issues alone, not even before you consider being sensitive to the French themselves.
I was working in London on a pushbike on 7 July when 4 bombs went off. It is really horrible seeing a city you love get attacked, but then on another level, the war zone that parts of the place you love become are a day to day reality in the places that some of those who perpetrate these attacks love (or so they'd claim).
I vividly remember walking into an office in West end London on 9/11. The fund manager simply waving me over to the TV above his multiple computer screens displaying stocks and shares. I stood there with the package in my hand and all he said was 'look'. And that was before the second plane went in. Shocking day.
It's a f**king crazy world out there and I have to admit I may at first have been a bit desensitised to being confronted by another mass murder in our world when they happen perhaps every week in theirs...
I was just going to make a comment about what will happen about the conference, but then the issues now are bigger then just that, perhaps this may put the focus on actual problems rather then imaginary ones.
Sorry to the French for their losses, condolences to the Parisians for having their city so awfully maimed....someone please sort out the humanitarian crisis in the middle east, but do stop sending bombs.

In another post elsewhere I said that I thought the politicians will be looking for photo-opportunities and also how to slide questionable legislation through while the media are just showing Paris. I think that right now there are behind the scenes organizers for the Paris COP looking at ways they can use the security issues to their advantage.

Some have already made the argument that drought, brought to the Middle East by CO2, spiked food prices, which spiked human temperatures, which spiked bomb building and homicide, which caused Paris to get blasted. Actually, they haven't made that last link yet, but I expect it momentarily.
Given that obviously consistent logic, there's no telling what else CO2 can do. But it's a very sinister molecule ... no doubt about it. We must seek it out at all costs wherever it hides and exterminate it. Nothing else will do! There must be NO pity. Then all things will be well with Gaia ... the evil capitalists will die ... and all Gaia's children will sing Kumbaya in the streets.
Whew! Glad I got that off my chest. I was irradiated by a wild-eyed Democrat this morning. Doc tells me it's terminal.

The rise of a new religion CAGW.
All those middle eastern religions are a bit mixed up and they have a fixed dialogue built around ancient books that are hard to reformulate.
Those silly Catholic's have walked into it with their eyes open. a Billion souls ready for repossessing.
In times of siege much gets through that should be rejected. Paris may be a perfect setting for some undemocratic resolutions.

Paris was bad, no question abt it. But the turkeys are coming home to roost. If you invite the spawn of a hyper-aggressive, hyper-intolerant religion into your house ... who should be surprised when they bite? France has some suburbs it needs to clean out.
