They do not have the power to do so. Note that there is no such thing as a British citizen, there are only British subjects, subjects of the Queen. The laws are only valid if the monarch signs them. Where the US pledge of allegiance is to the flag and the people it represents, in the United Kingdom the allegiance is to the monarch, who is supposedly politically neutral. All legal actions applying the law are announced as the monarch vs the accused. Therefore in this case the monarch would be on both sides of the action which is a nonsense.
So, lacking the power to deliver an injunction, and assuming that the plaintiffs knew this ... is this an attempt to get a judge to "go rogue"? Or merely elements of the political class "breaking wind"? Or the first in a series of serious steps towards a new vote on Scottish independence?
“Climate change will cause higher mortality and morbidity from heat stress,” the AMA president says. “Climate change will cause injury and mortality from increasingly severe weather events. Climate change will cause increases in the transmission of vector-borne diseases. Climate change will cause food insecurity resulting from declines in agricultural outputs. Climate change will cause a higher incidence of mental ill-health.
“These effects are already being observed internationally and in Australia.”
I'm tired from the fight .....
Australia is just regular stralia that's been gold-plated.

I find it ironic that the 'Remain' group are the ones that find that they cannot stop a 'no deal Brexit' because of EU treaties. There is an explicit period for negotiation of an exit deal and once that period is over either the state exits with the deal that was made or the state exits with no deal. This is EU law. The only way to get an extension is for the State to request one and then have a 100% vote in favor from all the other states _including_ the exiting state. That will not happen.
Boris has the Queen's permission to close the current session of parliament in mid-September to mid-October that gives the 'remainers' no time to do anything except shout. Oh and #Resist!
The parallels with the behavior of the Democrats when Trump was elected are not accidental - both Brexit (an independent UK) and Trump are threats to the Globalists that were so close to closing the deal.

One thing that Boris can do is call an election - a power specific to the Prime Minister. An election automatically closes down parliament - but importantly NOT the government for a period of around 3 - 6 weeks. So that screws the Remainers as UK exits while in the middle of an election campaign which Boris is certain to win (possibly with assistance of the Brexit Party)

And if the US and UK sign a new trade deal, does that ultimately help the UK? Obviously some of that depends on the terms.
Currently the UK is behind an EU tariff boundary that is significant. The major exports from UK would be some agricultural products such as lamb and woolen goods also I would suspect Whisky (no e). There are other specialist companies in the tech and computing field that would also be able to expand without EU getting in the way all the time mainly with regulations on exports.

Polls are a relatively modern thing. But I wonder if, somewhere in the dusty bins of the national or state archives, there are "equivalents" that would provide quantitative insight as to what the public's mood was on the eve of the 1776 Declaration of Independence (AMEREXIT). We know there were many Loyalists in different areas of the Colonies. And it was not just economics, as I believe the representatives expected War. What opinions did the Ladies of the household hold / express? Was Martha Washington concerned over what the future price of cloth might be? Me thinks there might be many surprises.
No surprise that New York abstained on the otherwise unanimous resolution for independence on July 2, 1776. Some things apparently never change.
NY was comfortable with the political/economic status quo. Boston and Virginia were not. The colonists that were being hurt by the edicts coming from across the pond were highly motivated to resist. They had no recourse. It all boils down to what side of the bread your butter’s on.
