First 6 months of each year since 1998 was as follows: -
1998 0.64 1999 0.07 * 2000 0.03 * 2001 0.17 2002 0.36 2003 0.27 2004 0.26 2005 0.36 2006 0.24 2007 0.35 2008 -0.03 * 2009 0.16
The cooling trend started in 2008 still seems to be apparent So far, 2009 is 0.15 degrees cooler than 2002 to 2007

Nearly the same temp as last year, and easily the second coolest June since 1999.

June AMO is positive (.176). Not really unexpected since most didn't expect the AMO to end this soon. But it may still be in a weakening phase, before turning negative for a longer period.

The PDO rose to -0.31. The horseshoe of cold sst's in the northern pacific did nearly disappear in late June which had a mostly negative soi. It looks to have strengthened in July along with a reversal of the soi to positive. My bet is that July will be more negative.

Joke of the month: GISS June anamoly = .63 It will be interesting to see where HADCRUT comes in...

Joke of the month: GISS June anamoly = .63 2nd warmest june on record. Hadcrut will come in similarly, we already have hadSST2 released for June 2009 which covers approximately 2/3 of the Earth surface and that also shows warmest June since 2009.

Socold.
'Earth surface and that also shows warmest June since 2009'
Ha Ha Ha. AGW in panic mode. Now that has to be the shortest average ever. It was the warmest June since THIS YEAR. Climb down off you 'modeled' hobby horse and read what you are shoveling socold.
I'm going to laugh more now in 'July 2009' since my record laugh in July 2009.
Stop taking the GISS socold.

Not to worry Socold, but you need to keep with the misinformation Socold, Black is the new White, 2007 is the new 1998, Come on, keep up with the mis-information. If the purveyors of doom are behind the GISS takers, what hope is there for the next round of pointless legislation to save the funding (Sorry should have said Planet here) . I think you are running out of stupid people to read your posts my friend.

Joke of the month: GISS June anamoly = .63
Why is this a joke? SST have risen sharply this last month and it looks as though it is SST which has caused the increase in the GISS anomaly.
Just a reminder. Over the past ~20 years the decadal trends of the 4 main datasets are within a few hundredths of a degree of each other.

Just a reminder for you, glc: Global mean temperature, on every data set, always follows the ocean temperature, never leads. Please explain how greenhouse gases create El Ninos. I still don't get it. Thanks in advance.
