We need to find someone who knows the intricacies of all climate influences and precisely how the various factors react with/affect the others. Should we advertise? I suspect the size of this forum is an indication of how many people would get it. The rows that occur on wuwt etc are an indication of how many people might agree π Where ya gonna find a Mann like that? Perhaps a WhoaMann? Judith Curry?

Money? Did somebody say money? Yes Mr Fisher, anyone who supplies denialist information to the public gets a big fat check from the oil companies!

Drawn on the Bank of Moscow. By the way Mr Acid, I'm still waiting for MY contract from GWV. Tough crowd Missouri, I got a thx for posting and then they got on with model analysis. Think it went over their heads a little, need to catch them at the right moment.... I don't know if they're more like "data guys" or "gamers with a specific application". ARGO is a really simple, stand-alone, data-display application, complete with data that can be easily updated. Doesn't take up much hard drive or RAM. Limited display tools but an overall useful application. And did I mention ... IT'S FREE. I have no weather models, so I don't how complex their oceanic data interface is. I assume the major forecast models (daily, weekly, monthly) must take the ocean into account ... somehow. You could probably write an app to extract gridded depth data in whatever input format that was required. Perhaps someone has already done it. They will have SSTs, but often it seems that the past and near-term trends are more obvious at a little depth ... buffered from the surface noise. I like 100-300 m, but 0-100 m seems to show a solar signal mixed into whatever else is there. But these lend the "trend" to the analysis. You can see many of the smaller cycles in the data ... and the time series is getting long enough (15 years) that, when used with other data, you can see what the extended trend is likely to look like. You just have to age the turns and their direction-magnitude. At depth, the ocean generally does not "turn on a dime", although there are indications from the less-monitored past that some things can happen very quickly. Five years perhaps? Less? The "Great Climate Shift" is tagged to 1976 but took till the early 80s to reach its peak. Was that the ignition of the thrusters on Solar cycle 21? The run-up seems to drape the up-bound side of the cycle perfectly. We have no instrumented downsides of this magnitude to gauge with. Dilly's concept of lunar pulses in the N Atlantic-Arctic (and similar) get superimposed on top of, and modify, longer-term trends. You really should load up ARGO Acid. One more distraction from job and fam.

I may well have a play Missouri, it kinda befuddled me when I first looked at it, but I think it makes more sense now I've seen what it can do through your offerings ππ

Their "Plain Language Summary" is novel and appreciated. But their charts minus a plain language interpretation (which is behind the paywall) are complexing.
