The argument is not does the climate change, I have noticed over the last 67 or so that it warms up considerably every morning. The argument is why it's changing. The more I learn here the more obvious is that it's nothing to do with human activity. I think it's more to do with that big orange blob in the sky.

I do believe there is a bit of validity to your post.... ;D

And it's cold this morning - overcast - no orange blob visible! lol (Melbourne)
14C overnight, 16C now at 9am. If this was winter, my central heating would have come on! lol.

33 C forecast here in Sunny Brisbane .... may help to dry up some of the flood waters.

Ratty: John Cook over at Skeptical Science is having fun saying that all the rain is because of AGW.
I beg to differ with him........but then......what would I know? Tell us the truth?

I'll bet you could go back in his archives and find where he said the drought that is now rain soaked was also because of AGW. Goddard has already cataloged several quotes from "scientists" doing just that.

Sig, I suspect he might be wrong. The biggest recorded flood in Brisbane was in 1893. If fact - in 1893 - there were three major flood heights recorded in a period of nine days. The 1893 experience was 8.2M, that is 3.7M above the 2011 flood (4.46M) and 2.7M above the 1974 figure. In this context, the Wivenhoe Dam flood mitigation project was completed in 1984. The 2011 floods would have been much more severe in Brisbane had Wivenhoe not been there. I'm sorry but I don't know the CO2 level in 1893. PS: From BOM maps in January 1974, there is every chance that 1974 was a bigger rain "event" than 2011.

Cyclone Yasi was impressive - 500 km across and 300kph+ winds. It has also got legs.
Its remnant moisture is now dumping on Victoria. I have had about 100mm in 3 hours.
Forecast of up to 200 mm in NE Victoria tomorrow, which means more major flooding.
At least its a lot cooler!!

Its still raining hard in Queensland and elsewhere in the North, half a metre at a time it appears, with more forecast.
The SOI has crept back over 34, so La Ninya is still alive and well.
Sadly, our government is still besotted by the idea of Global Warming while the AMSU satellites [Channel 5] are now showing as 0.82 degC COOLER than last year. We are also comfortably below the 30 year average.
I just wonder when our scientific institutions will finally announce that the emperor has no clothes.
I have an idea that too many reputations are now linked to this charade.
