All the oopsie possibilities are just staggering. I could quote a Dr Strangelove. The UAH global low anomalies of the last two Ninas were both at -0.4 C. So ... 0.39 C to go. We have already dropped -0.6 C over the last 13 months from the last Nino high. At this point in the 2010-11 cycle, we had dropped -0.7 C.

Kinda like how they "processed" those ballots last fall.

Kinda like how they "processed" those ballots last fall. Me thinks that ballot stuffers may know their trade a little better than Climate Scientists. If Cleavon Little were still with us, I think he would have appreciated the humor in this whole circus.

So many questions and a paywalled article. If the clear sky forcing of their two stations amount ~0.2 Wm-2 per decade ... and this is approximately ten per cent of the trend in downwelling longwave radiation ... wherein lies the difference? If the oceans are the primary planetary CO2 reservoir, how do warming or cooling ocean trends affect the longer-term atmospheric totals?

If the oceans are the primary planetary CO2 reservoir, how do warming or cooling ocean trends affect the longer-term atmospheric totals? When the paper came out, I called the author because he didn't include humidity in his observation. He claimed it wouldn't make any difference. We disagreed to the point he hung up on me. My question to him was what was the AH trend at the observation sites. Go figure eh? This is an example of a paper going through the pal test.

Where we end up often depends on where, and with what, we begin.

I have worked with many physicists and engineers through the course of my career. I am always surprised by the complete breakdown in logic and the adherence to the scientific method once one becomes completely intoxicated with their preconceived notion. Combating "Observational Bias" requires constant vigilance and discipline.

Combating "Observational Bias" requires constant vigilance and discipline. Amen. I hope that we are doing a better job of that than the Gorists.
