www.karstenhaustein.com/climateTo the quite unsophisticated [did they spell that right?] Martians, it appears that the only reason the end August Earth planetary temperature was about the same as the previous month-end, was that it coincided with a spike upwards. That seems to have rather dramatically reversed. The Martians are struggling to explain this kind of shift. They also suspect the human race will not enjoy the coming NH winter. Personally, I'm investing in Martian cold suits and thermal shelters. I'm expecting to "clean up" in the next two winters.

The Martians sent a message. It's not good.

This guy is one of the best enthusiast climate analysts going, if nothing because he finds interesting ways of looking at things.
Of course Moboy is no.1!

This guy is one of the best enthusiast climate analysts going, if nothing because he finds interesting ways of looking at things. Of course Moboy is no.1! A long way back on this board there were extensive discussions of LOD. I will search for them if I remember the main proponent in the discussions was 'Pidgey' LOD or rotation speed of the planet is almost certainly driven by changes in the barycenter and that could be one of the inputs to chaotic stirring of the THC and the atmospheric circulations.

The number of record flood events this year is truly amazing. Now Sudan and the Nile. May need to dig out those Pharonic records. watchers.news/2020/09/08/river-nile-sudan-highest-levels-since-records-began/We know that China tends to get its historic floods during solar minimums. Does a cooling atmosphere "shed" water? Very loose term but something very dramatic is happening. I'm not a great believer in "coincidence", particularly when it is so widespread and temporally concentrated.

It would appear that data governance is not NASA/NOAA strong point

Seems odd to hear GW talk still, I know it's a very large world, but it has been so cool and green in Tulsa for several years. And this summer took the cake. At some point I'd think we could stick a fork in it.

So I posted this here earlier as it looks as if US fires have FA to do with anything global. Then I thought, well its a map by a US organisation for US fires.....OF COURSE it shows fires up to the borders, so I deleted the post as I felt it didn't represent anything meaningful. Then I wondered if Canada provides a similar service. It does..... Then there's a slew of "Antifa are lighting fires" reports which appear to be questionable đ¤ˇđźââď¸ www.opb.org/article/2020/09/11/antifa-wildfires-oregon-rumors-fact-check-debunked/Which leaves land management. Probably more plausible as unless the land is different across the border, a fire would just as happily spread north as anywhere.

What was the extraordinary surface event? Don't know. They didn't say. I've never seen a system drop straight south across an established westerly flow before.

"Many scientists & peer-reviewed studies support Trumpâs claim that âItâll start getting cooler. You just watchâ â Trump added: âI donât think science knows actuallyâ
President Trumpâs analysis is supported by decades of climate research and scientists.
President Trump, at a California wildfire briefing on September 14: âItâll start getting cooler. You just watch.â Wade Crowfoot, California Secretary for Natural Resources: âI wish science agreed with you.â President Trump responded: âWell, I donât think science knows actually.â
President Trumpâs claim that âscienceâ does not âknowâ has been echoed by prominent scientists who emphasize that scientific uncertainty over climate needs to be acknowledged. Renowned Princeton Physicist Freeman Dyson, who died earlier this year, said, âI have strong views about climate because I think the majority is badly wrong.â"More here:> www.climatedepot.com/2020/09/15/many-scientists-peer-reviewed-studies-support-trumps-claim-that-itll-start-getting-cooler-you-just-watch-trump-added-i-dont-think-science-knows-actually/

By definition! If only they would recognize it. Settled Science is an Oxymoron! The good business man/woman understands that you don't place all your chips on "drawing to an inside straight". In the non-engineering, long-term prophecy world, a "futures" model is "good" if it gets the general decadal trend(s) correct ... outstanding if it gets the magnitudes in the ball park ... and "hall of fame" if it correctly predicts inflection points and timing. In the world of science, opinions (forecasts) are like "cultured" a__holes. Every educationally titled elitist has one. Some smell worse than others. None are to be "totally" believed if you're sober. The above piece of "art" or science only gets us back to about 1900 ... but not inside of a hundred years. If we can't handle that, then perhaps the majority of our species has outlived its intelligence warranty.
