Earth is in dire straits due to climate change, and rising sea levels will cause "sweeping and severe" consequences for humans, an expert United Nations climate panel warned in a grim new report Wednesday.
The assessment was one of several findings in the oceans and ice report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued as world leaders met at the U.N.
The report noted that sea levels are rising at an ever-faster rate as ice and snow shrink. Oceans are also getting more acidic and losing oxygen.
The agency warned that if steps aren't taken to reduce emissions and slow global warming, seas will rise 3 feet by the end of the century, with many fewer fish, less snow and ice, stronger and wetter hurricanes and other, nastier weather systems.
"The oceans and the icy parts of the world are in big trouble, and that means we're all in big trouble, too," said one of the report's lead authors, Michael Oppenheimer, professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton University. "The changes are accelerating."
The dire effects will be felt on both land and sea, harming people, plants, animals, food, societies, infrastructure and the global economy. However, seriously, this increasing shrieking of the sky is falling the sky is falling - is evidence that the people who pull the strings for the gullibles are increasingly aware of forecasts like Astromet's and now even NASA that it is going to get cold. And when it starts getting really cold and there are powercuts there may just be a tar and feather and pitchfork moment, when the gullibles realize that they have been had. Link that to the likely sudden cessation of research funding and no travel budgets and you can see why the 'extinction rebellion' were funded now. This is like forecasting Arctic Ice - but I think this time next year just before the US elections the fan will be hit with the excrement. It may even be entertaining to watch. |

MSNBC just hosted another two-day Democrat presidential candidates climate forum at Georgetown University – where I spoke at a contrarian program. Meanwhile, a big Climate March took place in New York City, while protesters tried to block Washington, DC streets. They were all kicking off the UN’s “Global Climate Week” in NYC, featuring a Youth Climate Summit and UN General Assembly event where world leaders will demand “global action” to supposedly stop the supposed climate crisis..........
........So another icy cold reality is this: All this “free, renewable, sustainable, eco-friendly, ethical” energy would require the biggest expansion in mining the world has ever seen. But when was the last time any environmentalist or Democrat supported opening a single US mine? They detest mining.
Which brings us to the dirtiest pseudo-renewable, pseudo-sustainable energy secret of all – the one these folks absolutely do not want to talk about: slave and child labor...................

You may need a level of intestinal fortitude for the first 3.5 minutes but it does improve after that and indeed could be useful when 'arguing with gullibles'.
Beverage of choice in hand and a replenishment bottle, as you are warned it is around 45 minutes but you may feel it worth it.

The IPCC has vastly improved over its last two reports and will likely continue to improve as more information has been coming available and the apocalyptic notions expressed by the perpetrators behind the whole thing is becoming more marginalized everyday. The IPCC reports still suffer greatly from the post-science political editing to conclusions not supported in the science internally. Judith Curry on her site mentioned she now quotes the IPCC more than ever. That would be from the science internals not the summary for policy makers. Thats because above all these reports are political documents. The real threat remains socialist authoritarian domination of the world something even the elitist dreamers of social democracy will not be able to stop if they are successful in creating authoritarianism by elite committee.
