I am still missing the bottom 4' in my workshop from hurricane Harvey. I was planning on finishing that after this hurricane season. I will say that after much trial and error my skills at hanging drywall, taping, floating and matching texture are much, much better than they were prior to Harvey. If you will pardon the pun, it's an ill wind. Good luck with the current beast.

It has been raining hard and steadily with embedded storms since midday yesterday. The radar seemed to show some rotation and now I have a yellow cross in the sky Not quite up to Beta and it will fade as the center crosses the coast just South of here

I'm getting a lot more rain from Beta than I got from Sally. We have a persistent 20KT ENE wind right now, as well. Temperature is in the high 60s, which is of course unusual for this time of year. I assume the wind will die down as the storm moves onto the Texas coast.
The weather with this storm reminds me of hurricane Juan in 1985. He hugged the coast as well, and interacted with a front as is happening to beta.
Hang in there Mr. Glenn!

Looks like an eye is forming, as circulation ramps up.

My area has received about 10" of rain the last two days from Beta with more coming. Heavy training tropical rains with little or no lightning/thunder. Looks like we still have more to come with Beta taking it's time getting out of here.

Leave it inside. Outside is an open invitation for unwelcome visitors.

High level winds don't look too conducive either Rather strange flows though like the North Easterly over Cuba down towards Easter Island then joining the southern equatorial jet or the figure of 8 jet streaks just West of the Azores.

Well Ratty your cool weather (20C) is now destined for NZ and we will have snow to sea level in the south, thankfully 1600Km away.
And the ski season has a further stay of execution.
So the weather is just elsewhere.
