Julisa studied temperatures in Beeville for the past 109 years to develop her conclusion.[Beewille is a town of 13,000 in Southern Texas, U.S.A]
She researched online data basis of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, the National Weather Service, and checked out books on climate change at the Joe Barnhart Bee County Library.
Her findings:
• temperatures rose and fell from 1900 to 1950.
• temperatures in Beeville cooled down over a 20-year period beginning in 1955 and ending in 1975.
• Since 2001, temperatures in Beeville have grown cooler year after year.
Close to 200 R.A. Hall students entered projects in this year’s science fair, said organizer Denise Salvagno, who also teaches the school’s gifted and talented students.
Fourth- and fifth-graders were required to enter projects as part of class work; however, students in grades first, second and third could enter projects if they desired.

While resting from cooking dogs on my hot BBQ I noticed "The Beeville Science Fair Hoax – but look at the story the data tells" "Looks like there was some tweaking going on! But discovering anything more about Beeville seemed pretty difficult. Some interesting information about the station can be found at NOAA. But what really surprised me was the graph uploaded by “Tom in Texas”, referenced in the comments section in a Watts Up With That post. It shows that adjustment data for Beeville is greater than 2ºF for the last 110 years." wattsupwiththat.com/2010/06/08/the-beeville-science-fair-hoax-but-look-at-the-story-the-data-tells/#more-20316

The science fair story, like CAGW, is a hoax. But still, can we have our billion$ back anyway?

Some people posting here seemed to be overjoyed by the "results" in a record time! I wonder what that indicates regarding the motives behind this.

Shame it's not April 1st really? You're right Touko!
Sir thou complaineth too much......
I get to thinking that we are the ones with a dash of Asbergers and the other are the real sensitives. Why else would you get so aggitated in denial if it wasn't that you were real scared of the truth being told?
If you've ever seen anyone going through the grief of a sudden loss you'll see what I mean.....

graywolf, What grief? But since ou bring up the interesting topic of reactions to news, your reaction of expanding glee to any information you can wring out of a news report regarding a connection between Arctic ice and CAGW is rather macabre. If I actually believed, as you do, that the world was facing a real catastrophe caused by CO2, and that Arctic ice was an indicator of that catastrophe, I would not chortle or prance around in happiness as you do if I received confirmation. You, Lovelock, Hansen, Gore and far too many seem to be hungering after a good ol' apocalypse, and cannot wait until them sinners get whats coming.

An excellent article on denialism from the New Scientist: www.newscientist.com/article/mg20627606.100-living-in-denial-why-sensible-people-reject-the-truth.html(You should have a grace period on the site before you're required to subscribe) Graywolf, yes I think there's a subtle psychological mechanism at work in the minds of the deniers They are fundamentally as scared of the changes as anyone, but try to offload the fright from their minds onto any carrier that they could despise and disregard, as they are fundamantally not in terms with their own insecurity. You and me are in effect working brutally as their very own unpaid psychotherapists! Touko

I cannot speak for all climate skeptics/deniers, but I am completely convinced that AGW is a hoax, and I am not scared of anything. Least of all, I am not scared of any hard experimental data.

Jim, if you rely on data, and just have a different or dissident view, you're a sceptic. If on the other hand you go about and diss people out loud because they have adverse views, without anything productive to show yourself, you're likely a denier. The same unfortunately also goes for people who have made up their minds firmly a priori.
And if I may ask, what was that "he/she" reference to myself recently? Are you thinking everyone cons you all the time, not stating their proper sex, or what?
