Well it's cold and grey here feel more like late October (not quite Winter) but Katla is getting very active so Winter might come earlier if loads of SO2 gets dumped in the atmosphere.

a high of 67, that does't happen until November, lows in the 40's, it seems like global warming went amock, and were getting colder. I do have to say my professor said the earth would start cooling in my meteorology classes, in about this year and keep getting colder until 2032. This was in 1989 , I am starting to think he was right. I know Texas was hot this year, but that was just a standard high pressure they get every year. This one was persistent from la nina.
He said in college were heading for another ice age. I want to know what you think?

And link any published papers -- or even remarks -- of his from 1989 or thereabouts? Thank you in advance. Regards

Here in the Louisville / Southern Indiana area, we broke the all-time April rain record by nearly 3 inches. EVERYTHING this year seems to be running 4-6 weeks early. There's no way the mid-continent ridge should have broke up as early as it did. SO WHAT'S CAUSING THIS? Could it be ... aghast ... solar-induced GLOBAL COOLING

Looks like winter is coming unusually early here this year based on forecast: "Tomorrow Night Clear -1 °C"
I guess this will be third year in a row with a hellish winter. Considering that last december was coldest in 200 years, this does not look promising based on temperatures so early in fall.

Ok right now in Northeast Texas it is 75 degrees while yesterday we hit a high of 101, wonder how busy the doctors are fixing to get.

Same thing happened here in the Louisville area. Three days of 100+ then we caught the north wind from the hurricane and set five record low/high days in a row. Been in the 60's and 70's since.

I have had the wood stove going at the house for over a week now, yesterday was the first day I had to augment with the furnace...
Our temps have only been a little colder then average, but weirdly the vegetation most of the way down the surrounding mountains has all ready been killed by frost. This is at least two weeks early.

"Early Winter in Switzerland" "With the first snow in the mountains in the middle of the winter moved in September. In Graubünden the snow line was at 1,200 meters. In some places the snow piled up to half a meter high. Yet the soil is warm, the white splendor should melt quickly. (Sda) On Sunday, a cold front moved from west of the Jura and the Bernese Oberland Grisons in the Alps. In the high alpine regions, there was up to half a meter of fresh snow. In parts of the Grisons, the snow line was at 1,200 meters above sea level or even lower. In the Midlands at the weekend when temperatures dropped some heavy rain and thunderstorms to just over 10 degrees. In Valais, the temperatures were on Saturday still climbed to 28 degrees." wattsupwiththat.com/2011/09/19/early-winter-in-switzerland/

Frost on the pumpkins again tonight. At least it is getting closer to the date of the normal 1st frost. This will be our 2nd frost of the fall.
