This may be interesting to MissouriBoy and AcidOhm... Unearth forgotten weather records from across Europe...
About Weather Rescue
Unearthing and digitising historic weather records will help build a legacy of environmental information, contribute to new discoveries and unlock answers to questions about our weather and changing climate.
Without your help, information about weather and climate collected by generations before us will remain undiscovered.www.zooniverse.org/projects/edh/weather-rescue/Interesting organisation, I like the idea. The temptation is there to homogonise the data as one inputs it...because it's old data, I suspect they read the thermometers wrong so all readings require a 0.8°c increase before inputting...

It's a plan so clever you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel 😉

There is a post on WUWT about sea level rise slowing not increasing. wattsupwiththat.com/2018/02/04/the-fantasy-of-accelerating-sea-level-rise-just-got-hosed/In one of the responses to the post, this graph of sea level change is posted: I was wondering if there is a ocean temperature graph that could be matched to this. As the SSTs are showing that things are cooler one would expect that there may be a reduction in sea levels. Does anyone know if there is any correlation?

SST don't show heat content of the oceans. 2. Ocean Heat Content error bars are so huge that to determine anything from the present state of knowledge is a crap shoot. One can show cooling, one can show warming using the same data depending on where you present the graph in relation to the deviations. 3. Sea level rise is a horrible metric to use to promote AGW. Factors involved are so extensive, that to rely on one small segment is pure political bullshit.

this proves nothing but it should be watched. Look at the error bars and those are just the measurement errors, not some as yet not fully understood process.
The tide gauges are the longest running measures, 300 years, satellites are 30 years in play and being calibrated with the tide gauges and appear to measure a bigger portion of the world that's good. Anybody who thinks that a five year surge in sea level or whatever is in an advocacy roll. Advocacy and science stand diametrically opposed to each other and are the dark art of liars, spin doctors and the vast proportion of what politicians say and do.
All that can be said thus far is that little is different from before regarding sea level and the models are due for a revamp to say the least.

Australia is a big place. The country has certainly seen some unusually cold weather but it's over in my area; this is the forecast nearest to where we live: Nerang ForecastI'm away at the seaside for a week ... busy catching up with friends & rellies and trying to avoid Mrs Ratty's evil eye. Try DougLavers (Victoria) or TobyGlyn (NSW).
