This is not really statistically relevant though. We're talking about 3.5 years of downward trend after ENSO event. We need to drop a little bit more till this becomes an unprecedented drop since the global warming mantra has been pushed. True, although it was not a really strong ENSO event and. as I found on my recent trip to UK - EVERYONE is saying temperatures are inexorably rising. I meet people who don't agree with agw but they're rare. BBC, Gaurdian, Independent etc all pump out CC scare talk as soon as any warmth appears, and even when there isn't. MSM is brainwashing the population....

[ Snip ] I meet people who don't agree with agw but they're rare. BBC, Gaurdian, Independent etc all pump out CC scare talk as soon as any warmth appears, and even when there isn't. MSM is brainwashing the population.... Our national broadcaster campaigns relentlessly, any time day or night. Never questioning, just accepting. Promoting all pro stories and ignoring everything else. The only contrary views are on a Sky News channel which, I suspect, has little following. Most people already 'know' that we're doomed and get on with their daily lives.

Malaria Research: Our local researchers at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute are cautiously optimistic: QUEENSLAND RESEARCHERS DESIGN CLINICAL TRIAL MODEL THAT COULD ERADICATE MALARIAQueensland researchers are behind the development of a new clinical trial model for testing drugs and vaccines designed to stop malaria from spreading.
QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute scientists have designed a safe clinical trial model to test the effectiveness of efforts to stop the spread of malaria parasites from humans to mosquitoes.MALARIA: THE CHALLENGES FOR VACCINE DEVELOPMENTBased on these two models, we are developing a multi-stage multi-immune response vaccine against malaria, comprising antigens expressed in the liver stage and targeted by T cell responses, as well as antigens expressed in the blood-stage and targeted by antibody responses.

Glaciers die not so much from warm as from lack of snow. They need snow at the cwm to compress and flow down the hill at sufficient rate that it reaches the bottom before sublimation or melting. No snow and a dry atmosphere and the glacier will retreat - even if it remains sub-zero.

I just finished comparing several glaciers since 2015 on sentinelhub. Stable: Alps (Aletsch) Himalaya's (Baltoro) Western canada Retreating Iceland (note: heavy retreat this year) Patagonia (Viedma) Baffin Island (Barnes Ice Cap) Growing/Rebounding Greenland (Jacobshafen) If anyone is interested i can make some into a gif on request. Anyway it didnt strengthen my expectation that the snowfall of the past five years has already bucked the trend of retreating ice masses. We need a lot more snow.

Wouldn't mind seeing a gif if it is not wasting your time. Do you see retreating glaciers as a climate threat? PS: Is Glaciology your line of work FJ?

The retreating glaciers on Baffin Island are exposing Viking artifacts as well as MWP mosses etc. Once upon a time, there was a US Geological society paper about Glacier National Park being Glacier free during the MWP. That paper seems to have fallen down the internet rat hole. What prior work established is the MWP was a worldwide warming event.

Seems like greenland has indeed stopped its declining trend for the past three years.

And the Gulf Stream is sliding away to the south?
